Corner Shop

A calm shop counter with real UK coins. Pupils tap coins to pay the exact price, then press Pay. If it doesn’t match, the game says how much more is needed or suggests taking some coins back. In the change game, pupils pay with 10p, £1 or a £5 note and pick the right change, with help to count on from the price.

Tips for teachers

• Have real or play coins on the table to copy the game with.
• Start with pennies up to 10p, then move up when pupils are ready.
• Ask “can you pay with fewer coins?” once pupils are confident.
• Link it to a real trip to a shop or the school café.
